Reopening Announcement

From Our Family To Yours
Grand Country is a family-run business that works hard to do what is best for our guests and team. We want you to have confidence in your getaway with us. To focus on the family memories instead of the worry, we feel it’s important to give you as much information as possible about the things our Grand Country team is doing to ensure your safety.

Reopening Schedule

On May 4th, 2020, the State of Missouri and the Missouri Department of Health released a "Show Me Strong Recovery Plan" which provides guidelines for businesses, like Grand Country Resort, to re-open. With that, we are excited to announce the following re-opening schedule:
  • The Grand Country Buffet will re-open on May 20, 2020
  • The Grand Country Resort Hotel, Waterpark and Fun Spot will re-open on May 21, 2020
  • The Amazing Pets Show will re-open (on weekends) starting May 22, 2020. Limited to Grand Country guests on Memorial Day Weekend.
  • The other shows at the Grand Country Music Hall will re-open on June 10, 2020
*These dates are in compliance with all local, state and federal guidelines and are subject to change.

Wellness Initiatives

The health and safety of our guests and employees is our top priority. In accordance with the CDC and the State of Missouri, we will be following strict orders to protect public health and prevent further spread. We will be diligently training our team members on new operational and cleaning procedures. So, don’t be surprised to see activity at our parks prior to May 20. We feel confident that we will meet or exceed the guidelines set forth by Missouri’s statewide order, health officials, and industry resources.

Here are some of the precautionary measures guests can expect when we re-open:

  • We ask that all guests respect a proper physical distance staying 6-feet from anyone not in your group.
  • Hand sanitizer will be made available in common areas.
  • Continued deep-cleaning of high touch point surfaces including: faucets, trash-receptacles, vending machines, elevators, buttons, keypads, luggage carts, stair handrails, gym equipment, statues, and counters.
  • Common-area cleaners will wear gloves.
  • All touch point areas, including credit card machines and kiosks, will be sanitized after each transaction.
  • Front Desk Agents will be staggered providing physical distance between each guest.
  • We ask that only one family member checks in at the front desk.
  • Prior to a guest’s check-in, we will be disinfecting and sanitizing all guest rooms (and other lodging options) utilizing hospital-grade cleaning products.
  • During a guest’s stay we WILL NOT BE ALLOWING our housekeepers into your room for stayover service. Grand Country believes your guest room is your sanctuary and this a best practice to provide peace of mind for all of our guests.
  • Additional linen needs will be provided upon request.
  • The CDC states, "There is no evidence that COVID-19 can be spread to humans through the use of pools and hot tubs. Proper operation, maintenance, and disinfection (e.g., with chlorine and bromine) of pools and hot tubs should remove or inactivate the virus that causes COVID-19."
  • Physical distancing initiatives will be implemented for safe queuing for ride and attractions.
  • Our Certified Pool Operators will be conducting ongoing chemical readings to ensure our water is safe.
  • Our waterpark team will be disinfecting and sanitizing all waterpark common areas.
  • Hand sanitizing stations will be made available.
  • Chairs and loungers will be sanitized frequently.
  • Some of the chairs and loungers will be removed to aid in physical distancing.
  • Lifeguard stations will be sanitized during rotation.
  • Physical distancing initiatives will be implemented for safe queuing for ride and attractions.
  • Rides and attractions will be sanitized after each use.
  • Arcade games will be sanitized frequently.
  • Hand sanitizing stations will be made available.
  • Restaurant occupancy will be dictated by proper distancing of families.
  • Food preparation and food handling meet and exceed all state requirements.
  • Buffet attendants will serve food selections for guests.
  • Our food service team will be frequently disinfecting and sanitizing all tables, condiments, chairs and highchair with hospital-grade cleaning products.
  • We will be frequently changing out all kitchen serving utensils.
  • We will be continuously cleaning common areas, handles, faucets, dispensers, trash-receptacle touchpoints, buttons, keypads, counters and cleaning tools with hospital-grade disinfectants.
  • We will be making it a priority to exceed the state guidelines for all food preparation and food handling.
