GiGi Hutchison

Featured Vocalist

Laurie Georgelis, better known at the Grand Country Music Hall by the name, GiGi Hutchison, knew what she wanted to be from the time she was a little girl. What’s more, she knew how to get there. She began dancing at the age of 8, and making trips to New York for modeling jobs and TV show auditions. By the age of 10, her hard work paid off. GiGi was crowned Little Miss America in 1982.

GiGi performed throughout school and while in college at Millikin University, she entertained in shows and concerts throughout Florida, Illinois, Texas, Tennessee and South Carolina. She was also a dedicated student, graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre, and minor in Communications and Broadcast Media. In addition to her collegiate endeavors, she trained with instructors from the Joffrey Ballet and National Champions in ballroom dancing. “Ever since I was a little girl I’ve always stayed busy,” she said. “It’s just who I am and what I do. If I’m not with my family, I’m usually working.”

She was awarded the 2009 & 2012 Dancer of the Year, by Branson Show Awards, and in addition to singing, dancing and lighting up the stage with her personality.

GiGi stages and choreographs all the shows at Grand Country. “That’s something I have always loved to do,” she said. “I’m just so thankful to be a part of a production like this one that listens, encourages, and most of all, treats you like a member of the family.”

Gigi is married to her wonderful husband Bud, and together they have three beautiful children, Ethan, Slade and a daughter they adopted from Nepal, Dipika. “Our journey and experience getting her here to us was extremely difficult and very trying,” she said. “But Dipika is a blessing to us and everyone she encounters. What she means to our family and her siblings is truly beyond words.”

GiGi attends church at James River Assembly. She enjoys writing, painting and spending time with her family.
